Book Preview

digital-book-talk.jpg

You know how a really good movie preview gets you so hyped to see the movie? What if there were book previews? Would they make you want to read the book?

Funny you should ask: there are book previews! Click HERE to go to book preview site and click on “Browse Books“. Click on book you’d like to read and answer the following questions in your blog:

1) What book did you choose

2) What did the preview show?

3) Did it make you want to read the book? Why or why not?

Eating Los Angeles

My summer is going to be half fun and half boring. I’ll tell you about the boring part in another post. For now, let me tell you about the part that I’m really looking forward to. The fun half will start in August when I go back home to Los Angeles. The best part of L.A. is the food. I know, I know….you’re saying to yourself, “L.A.? Amazing Food? Heck no; it’s all about New York City, baby!” I have to disagree. While New York has some incredible restaurants, there are some places in Los Angeles that are unbeatable.

Starting with breakfast, I plan on eating my favorite pancakes at Dupars. It’s this old school diner with four different flavors of syrup: blueberry, apricot, blackberry, and maple. It’s always SO hard to decide which one to bless my buttery flapjacks with. Long story short: apricot always wins. For lunch I go to IN-N-OUT Burger.  The juicy burgers are so thin and come with this special sauce that can’t be beat.  The owners of IN-N-OUT won’t create more spots outside of Los Angeles (and Las Vegas) which makes my taste buds cry .   Another cool thing about IN-N-Out Burger is they have a secret menu with names like “animal style” and “3 X 3″.  Finally, for dinner I always head to this little spot called Earth, Wind, and Flour.  Their Chicken Parmigina sub makes my mouth to back flips.

So, what are you doing this summer? Is there something you are really looking forward to?  Is there something you are dreading?  Let us know in your blog!

I Need a Favor

Were you one of the people last month who spent the morning or afternoon in the cafe with people from Goldman Sachs? If you were, I’d like your help in thanking them. Please write a thank you note and email it to me at llahana188@gmail.com. In the letter:

1. Thank them for their volunteering to spend time with you
2. Tell them why making the supersize me advertisement with them was fun and interesting.
3. Why the opportunity to talk with them about their careers was interesting and/or helpful.
4. Your blog’s address so they can see what you made with them.
